Benefits of Lavender Oil for Your Skin

Lavender is something that I use alot of in everyday life. I love my Lavender Face Mist, I use lavender oil in baths or as a cleanser some mornings on my microfibre cloth, or I burn it in an oil burner as a form of stress relief.

Lavender has been used for hundreds of years as a form of treatment for anything from skin disorders to digestive complaints. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties.

Anti-inflammatory benefits
Lavender reduces the chances of infections in the skin spreading, and it is one of the safest oils to use as there are very few allergic reactions. Skin conditions that benefit from it include acne, eczema, psoriasis and dandruff, as well as general sensitivity.

Anti-fungal benefits
Lavender oil is perfect for treating other skin conditions like athlete's foot.

Antiseptic benefits
Lavender is perfect as an antiseptic, it not only helps to treat infection and stop it spreading, it also can numb a wound and relieve pain. This can be done with a small compress and a few drops of oil on minor scrapes, cuts, wounds, burns and boils. It can also stop stinging from bee and thistle stings.

Who knew lavender oil could do all that?! I love it to de-stress, especially in my shower as it smells amazing!
