Review: QSilica REMOVE Makeup And Grime Cleansing Gel

One of the things I love about blogging is I get the opportunity to find out about new brands and products, without the hassle of trawling Priceline or Myer for what's new and exciting. In addition, I'm a big fan of products that are Australian Made and Owned, as well as cruelty free.

So, when the information for Qsilica's new REMOVE Makeup and Grime Cleansing Gel landed in my inbox, I just had to try it.

This product ticked all my boxes - Australian Made, Australian Owned, Not Tested on Animals, and Natural. In addition, it's paraben and sulphate free, and uses as many natural ingredients as possible, such as lavender, sandalwood, avocado seed oil and jojoba oil to name a few. It's main claim to fame is colloidal silica. Never heard of it? Me neither. I did some searching and found out that this natural product (as opposed to siliCONE which is chemical) is great for promoting collagen formation.

This cleanser is a thick, clear gel, and foams up a little once you work it with water. It does an amazing job at removing makeup, and leaves my skin feeling very clean without redness or irritation. It also smells lovely -very natural, you can really smell the sandalwood and lavender which is lovely after a long day!

As you know, my skin is dry and sensitive, and this has not inflamed my rosacea one bit. I do feel it is more suited to being my night cleanser to remove makeup, and I'll stick to my day cleanser (Weleda), however I'd happily purchase this. I believe it would be especially good for normal to oily skin types, especially those that flare up with harsher cleansers.

Oh, and it recently picked up the Overall SkinCare Award at the 2012 FreeForm Skin Awards in London. How cool is that!

You can pick up Qsilica REMOVE Makeup and Grime Cleansing Gel from Planet Health, or you can find a list of stockists on their website, for $19.95.

Qsilica do not test on animals, nor commission third parties to do so.
