Rave: Elusyion Pure Primer

Ages ago I noticed a link on a forum website where Australian company Elusyion were giving away 100 trial size primers to new facebook fans, so I thought I'd give it a go and see if I could get one. Alas, I did. Yay!

My previous experience with primers has not been good - I have been allergic to silicon-based primers so I've steered clear of all of them. I was excited to try this product as it was all natural ingredients, so I assumed that I would not be allergic, luckily,m I wasn't!

This is the primer I was sent. The regular product actually comes in a black tube, I believe. The primer is very light, dries quickly and does a fantastic job at making my makeup not only last longer but also looks more vibrant!

A small amount goes a long way. I probably use about the size of a 7c piece (Yes, I know that doesn't exist, but if it did...) for my whole face and neck, so it's great value too. It does have a strange smell - not a bad smell or anything, just a strange one. I can only put this down to the many natural ingredients in the product, and no added fragrance. I never have an issue with sweating with this, it doesn't break me out, it doesn't dry me out, and my skin doesn't hate it. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!

Also, a little on the company - they are Australian owned and operated, and all their products are Australian made. The products are vegan, cruelty free, and this particular product is 98% organic, which is also a big thing for me.

You can find Elusyion mineral products at Earthy Essences for $47.95 for 50mL.

What's in My Bin? February Empties Part 1

Man, I am PLOWING through product! Woooo! So I figured I'd do another halfway post like I did in December.

Dove Energising Body Wash - LOVED the scent of this! Smelled so yummy and refreshing especially after the gym. Did a good job too, and not drying. Will repurchase after I get through my 4000 other body washes.

The Body Shop Candied Ginger Body Butter - this was a Christmas LE prod, it smelled like dry ginger ale but in a good way. I'd repurchase if they still made it.

Swisspers & No name makeup pads - they do the job.

Priceline Calming Facial Wipes - HG wipe.

Mary Kay Timewise Moisturiser - did a good job, lasted ages. Didn't see any anti aging benefits though.

Clinique High Lengths Mascara - HG mascara. LOVE IT

Some Random brand I can't figure out mascara - hated this. The brush sucked, it was crazy waterproof as well. This is more of a chuck than a used up.

Sensodyne Toothpaste

The Body Shop Love Etc Body Wash (60mL) - I don't like this scent. I think it's discontinued as well.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream - LOVE!!!! Will repurchase after I plow through my other night creams

Covergirl lipgloss from 5 years ago - found this in a handbag. Ew.

Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path body lotion - does a good job and smells divine!!!

Burts Bees Shea Butter Hand Cream - smelled funny. Did a good job but wouldn't repurchase because of the smell.

Dove Green Tea and Cucumber Deodorant - this is being thrown out because it leaves marks on my white(!!!) tshirts that don't wash out. Back to Mitchum.

Burts Bees Honey Lip Balm - LOVED THIS! lasted ages too.

So all up I probably did get through P10P. So I guess I didn't really break it yesterday... right?!

Review: The Body Shop Vitamin C Radiance Powder

I recently got The Body Shop Vitamin C Radiance Powder as I had heard some colleagues talk about it, some good some bad, and I thought I had better try it myself as customers will be asking me about it.

You receive it in a small box, with a bottle of liquid that has a white cap on it, and an orange dropper looking top separate. The instructions say to press down on the button on the white top and it will release the powder into the liquid. All I can say is PRESS HARD - you'll feel like you're going to break the bottle. A white powder gets released into the liquid and then you shake it up to mix it together. Then replace the white top with the orange one, and you're ready to go!

Apply a generous amount morning and night after cleansing and before moisturising/sunscreen for 10 days. I mean GENEROUS as it's got active ingredients after 10 days the serum is basically useless as the ingredients go off.

I found that this product has a pleasant vitamin C smell, and it is quite runny to apply. However it sinks in quite well and did not leave my dry/normal/sensitive skin red or oily - I have heard from other colleagues that it may make your skin oily for the period of use, and others say they broke out - my skin loved it! I have finished my 10 day treatment and I've gotta say - I love this treatment! It has definitely made my skin alot less dull, and much nicer to look at sans makeup. I did not break out, or get oily skin, just wonderful brighter looking skin!

I would recommend this to anyone who wants a bit more oomph in their skin, without a massive pricetag. I'd say it would be good to do this treatment every 6 months to maintain the skin :)

The Body Shop Vitamin C Radiance Powder is available from The Body Shop stores, online, or from your Body Shop At Home consultant and retails for $44.95
